The Three Peaks Challenge
In May 2017, a team from CCi staff went out of their comfort zone, and pushed themselves to the very limit by taking part in one of the UK’s ultimate challenges, The Three Peaks Challenge! This was to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer & Alzheimer’s Society both charities of which members of the CCi team have or are being personally affected.
The challenge involved trekking up the highest mountains in the home nations; Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales within 24 hours, which included walking 42km’s and climbing circa 3,000 vertical metres. This proved very challenging for the team of first time hikers.
The task was a real mind over matter test for the CCi team as they battled on through darkness, strong winds, snow and ice, sleep deprivation, body exhaustion, and many a sore knee however they all successfully completed this painful but rewarding adventure. Their combined efforts resulted in raising £2,300 for these worthwhile charities.
Cycle London to Paris
To add to this effort, a month later, in conjunction with the LMA LIIBA U35 Claims Committee, to raise money for Cancer Research UK, our Director, Steve Horne cycled 300 miles over 4 consecutive days from London to Paris.
As a group the cyclists raised a whopping £60,923 and it’s not too late to still donate, just follow the link below to contribute to a very worthy cause.
